Loreena Isabel Irene McKennitt 羅琳娜 麥肯尼特
加拿大女高音歌手、作曲家、豎琴手、鋼琴手
以創作、表演 Celtic music（愛爾蘭和蘇格蘭音樂）聞名
Loreena 生長在加拿大的鄉村，是一名護士和家畜經銷商的女兒
童年時希望成為一名獸醫，後來她曾經在自傳中提到
「音樂選擇了我，而不是我選擇了音樂」
拉丁文 Celtae 譯為凱爾特人、是公元前 2000 年活動在中歐的民族
凱爾特人最早是從中亞草原向西遷徙，羅馬帝國時代曾佔據西歐大部分地區
目前只有愛爾蘭人、威爾斯人、高地蘇格蘭人和布列塔尼人
仍然堅持使用凱爾特語，並以自己的凱爾特人血統及文化而自豪
其中威爾斯語是世界上現存的最後一種還在大範圍使用的凱爾特語系的語言
但是由於使用人數日漸減少，也面臨語言與文化長期失傳的危險
古早蘇格蘭人也說凱爾特語，長久遭日爾曼民族的英格蘭人和諾曼人征服與同化
最終喪失固有的凱爾特母語文化，成為了一個以英語為母語的民族，
儘管如此在當今的蘇格蘭地區，凱爾特語言文化的殘留仍然處處可見
例如：電影 Braveheart《梅爾吉勃遜之英雄本色》的蘇格蘭人及風笛
在 70 年代後期開始，偶然的機會裡 Loreena 開始對 Celtic music 著迷
1991 年起並開始把自己像個粉絲一般地，融入到 Celtic 的歷史研究中
Loreena 也就這樣開始了 20 餘年的民樂研究、音樂創作與表演的奇妙人生
也因此她的音樂感性、豐富多元、具有迷人的 Celtic 地方民樂色彩
據說 The Mummers’ Dance 是為了紀念她 3 位在划船事故中失去很親近的人
Gregory Cook、Ronald and Richard Rees，一首具有 Celtic 樂風的民樂創作
歌曲中運用了風笛、手鼓、小提琴、豎琴等樂器，樂器之間彼此優美對話
加上她空靈迷幻的唱腔，有點像傳統的 Celtic 風格的1997年改編的歌曲也
是 Loreena 最出名的一首歌曲，在 Billboard 上有過相當不錯的成績
這對一個非流行樂歌手來說，是不太容易的事情！

蘇打綠 - 日光
在翻譯 The Mummers’ Dance 的過程中,
讓我聯想到台灣 蘇打綠樂團 2009 年的 "日光"
他們創作的意境好接近，連 MV 的視覺表現都好相似啊...
我想應該是「春天」的意念，給音樂家的有同樣的感動，而有近似的靈感吧 !
當然這首 "日光" 的曲風，包括吳青峰的詞曲創意、及獨特的唱腔
我也同樣很喜歡！
